The weather in Budapest in winter can vary from year to year. Usually January is the coldest month, with daily temperatures around between -5°C (23°F) and 0°C (32°F).

Sometimes we have very cold weather lasting for a few days, with temperatures around -10 (14°F). Nights can be particularly cold.

Usually we get some snow every winter but it melts away after a few days. Even in winter there are beautiful sunny days with crystal blue sky.

The most important stylistic feature of the dance within the Carpathians is the unusually large amount of personal improvisation. Observers have never failed to notice the individual nature of the Hungarian dance during the previous two centuries. This dancing is individual to such an extent that it is often difficult for scholars to establish the communal laws regulating individual creativity and improvising. Folk dance research has shown that this indiviudality is not merely poetic licence, and are genuine features.

Located in an abandoned apartment courtyard that has not seen the wrecking ball, Szimpla Kert mixes junkyard aesthetics with such modernisms as Wi-Fi, a daytime cafe, and evenings of live music and indie film screenings.

Dimly lit, couch-packed, with little open to the sky rooms off of the courtyard, it is a relaxing, pleasant place to unwind.

From the towers and the terrace a panaromic view exists of Duna, Margaret Island, Pest to the east and the Gellért Hill.

The Bastion takes its name from the guild of fishermen which was responsible for defending this stretch of the city walls in the Middle Ages. It is a viewing terrace, with many stairs and walking paths.

Budapest was historically recognised as three cities. The three cities were Pest, Obuda and Buda. Although grouped together, the cities were naturally divided by the Danube River which forks in the middle of the city.

The Trabant is an automobile produced by former East German auto maker VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau in Zwickau, Sachsen-Anhalt. It was the most common vehicle in East Germany, and was also exported to countries both inside and outside the communist bloc.

The main selling points were that it had room for four adults and luggage, and was compact, light and durable. Despite its poor performance and smoky two-stroke engine, the car has come to be regarded with affection as a symbol of the more positive sides of former East Germany and of the fall of communism (in former West Germany, as many East Germans streamed into West Berlin and West Germany in their Trabants after the opening of the Berlin Wall in 1989).

For advocates of capitalism it is often cited as an example of the disadvantages of centralized planning. It was in production without any significant change for nearly 30 years.

Unicum is a Hungarian herbal bitters, drunk as a digestif and apéritif.
According to legend, the drink was initially presented by an ancestor of Zwack founder József Zwack to Kaiser Joseph II of Austria.

The liqueur is today produced by Zwack according to a secret formula including more than 40 herbs and aged in oak casks. During the Communist regime in Hungary, Unicum was produced by a different formula. After the fall of communism, Péter Zwack returned to Hungary and resumed the production of the original Unicum.

The Hungarian Parliament Building is the seat of the National Assembly of Hungary, one of Europe’s oldest legislative buildings, a notable landmark of Hungary and a popular tourist destination of Budapest. It lies in Kossuth Lajos Square, on the bank of the Danube, in Budapest. It is currently the largest building in Hungary, and the second largest Parliament in Europe.

City Park was the main venue of the 1896 millennium celebrations of Hungary, by which time Andrássy Avenue, Millennium Underground and the Grand Boulevard were built.
